last dec 2005, the ny bethel gave talks indicating that they had to downsize (word is mine) due to "improved technology" and that as a result of this simplification some bethel family members would be invited to serve in the united states field in various assignments at various congregations where the excellent training they have recieved at bethel could be put to use and contribute much to the preaching and disciple making work.. what do you make of this?.
i wonder how they would determine who stays or goes?.
are there any former bethel members out there who can comment on rather this would be an easy transistion for those who have to leave?.
do you think the Society gave them a little something extra as a "departing" gift? You know - to help them get on their feet again? Just wondering......
I thought someone said on another thread that they were going to get around $400.00 per month to be Special Pioneers. What is the hour requirement for Special Pioneers? I remember it used to be pretty high, maybe twice as much as a regular pioneer?
it broke my heart to read about someone having to paying court fee's after wining a sexual abuse case against the wtbts.
she ended up winning 5,000 dollars but has to pay 220000 dollars in court feee to wtbts and for her lawyer.

You would have been wise to do research for yourself to see exactly what JWs teach rather than listening to what someone told you. If you had researched it for yourself you would have found out that whether or not someone seeks professional help is a personal decision that should not be criticized by the elders or anyone in the congregation.
That's not going to work for someone who is depressed. The last thing they are going to want to do is create more conflict and make their circumstances worse.

Yeah, that one never made sense to me. If you figure only JW's survive the big A, and billions of people are resurrected, that makes for a small percentage of people on the planet who are allowed to be married. They didn't say that someone's marraige ended with death and they could get married to someone else in the new system. They said resurrected ones would not be able to be married. The question I was asking when being told this was "what if my wife died and I decided to stay unmarried until she was resurrected? Could I re-marry her?" The answer was no.

While they might initially feel some discomfort when they first read the list, they breath a sigh of relief when they see this because in their minds, it lets them off the hook.
Well, I disagree. Sure, they don't chant, but I think that compulsory participation in the "Field Service" qualifies as a "debilitating work routine"
